FDOT, in partnership with Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT), established a free bus service between Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Breeze. The bus service helps relieve traffic congestion on the S.R. 281/Garcon Point Bridge detour.
The service begins at the ECAT Transfer Center, located at 1515 W. Fairfield Drive, at 6 a.m. and ends at Palm Beach Club, located on Pensacola Beach, with the last stop at 8:50 p.m.
The route from Pensacola Beach starts at Pensacola Beach Club at 6:05 a.m. and ends at the Pensacola Bay Center at 8:20 p.m. Buses will stop at Tiger Point Community Center, Gulf Breeze Hospital, the Boardwalk, and the Palm Beach Club.
The route is approximately 43 miles, and riders should expect a trip of approximately one hour.
FDOT is promoting a new commuter assistance program with potential benefits for drivers impacted by the current closure of the Pensacola Bay Bridge. The RideOn Commuter Services program is a free, fast, and secure way to connect with neighbors and colleagues to set up carpools, identify bus routes, or develop other transportation strategies.
Fully funded by the Florida Department of Transportation District Three, the RideOn Commuter Service program is free to residents of the 16-county Northwest Florida district that includes both Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
The RideOn Together App Features:
Commute Profiles: Build your profile to find the best commuter profiles for you.
Trip Tracking: Automatically track your trips to see how much money you save.
All-in-One Access: Connect with other commuters like you, log trips, or request an emergency ride home all in one place, from anywhere, at anytime.
