Downtown Pensacola Rotary Club Presentation
Project Engineer Brett Pielstick delivered a lunchtime presentation to approximately 100 members of the Downtown Pensacola Rotary Club on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the New World Landing. Pielstick provided an overview of the Pensacola Bay Bridge replacement project and explained current pre-construction and future construction-phase activities.
Questions from the Rotarians included what happens to the old bridge once it is no longer needed. Pielstick explained the existing structure will be demolished once it is taken out of service and that interest has been expressed in using the concrete to construct artificial fishing reefs. Decisions on the disposal of demolition debris have not yet been finalized.
The project team is available for presentations to any of the local civic and community organizations. If you are interested, please email us at [email protected]
