FDOT issues update on Pensacola Bay Bridge repairs

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) contractors have completed the installation of multiple stay-in-place forms and are currently pouring and leveling concrete on the Pensacola Bay Bridge. Following the completion of the concrete pours on the bridge deck, crews will construct barrier walls designed to create a reinforced, protective wall for motorists traveling over the bridge. Toll suspension extended on Garcon Point Bridge through May 9

Pursuant to Executive Orders 20-224, 20-248 and the extension of those orders in Executive Order 21-64, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Secretary Kevin J. Thibault, P.E. has directed Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) to further extend the toll suspension for the Garcon Point Bridge. Tolls are now suspended on the Garcon Point Bridge through Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Bridge repairs and detour route improvements continue

Florida Department of Transportation contractors have completed demolition and pile driving efforts at pier 70 on the Pensacola Bay Bridge and are preparing the site for placement of the new trophy piece. The targeted reopening of the bridge remains the week of May 31, 2021.
