The Florida Department of Transportation is promoting a new commuter assistance program with potential benefits for drivers impacted by the current closure of the Pensacola Bay Bridge. The RideOn Commuter Services program is a free, fast, and secure way to connect with neighbors and colleagues to set up carpools, identify bus routes, or develop other transportation strategies.
Demolition of storm damaged sections of the Pensacola Bay bridge is ramping up as crews work to repair the bridge and restore traffic.
FDOT, in partnership with Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT), has established a free bus service between Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Breeze. The bus service will help relieve traffic congestion on the S.R. 281/Garcon Point Bridge detour.
