FDOT, in partnership with Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT), has established a free bus service between Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Breeze. The bus service will help relieve traffic congestion on the S.R. 281/Garcon Point Bridge detour.
Though the Pensacola area received tropical storm force winds and increased tidal action from Hurricane Zeta, no additional storm damage was found following the Wednesday afternoon landfall of the hurricane in Louisiana.
The Florida Department of Transportation has announced that tolls on the Garcon Point Bridge will continue to be suspended through 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13. The Garcon Point Bridge is a primary detour route while the Pensacola Bay Bridge remains closed following damage sustained during Hurricane Sally.
