Progress continues on the Pensacola Bay Bridge project as crews are working day and night to complete the project.
Crews are now well over halfway complete with the westbound (Gulf Breeze to Pensacola) bridge.
Here are the new numbers:
- 100% of pile driving is complete.
- 98% of trophy pieces are installed.
- 63% of decks have been placed.
- 78% of the multiuse path girders are installed.
On the eventual eastbound bridge that is currently open, crews have completed repairs for the multiuse path. In addition, the team is testing and adjusting the aesthetic lighting which will provide a beautiful ambiance while driving over the bridge at night.

For the Gulf Breeze approach, crews are working beneath the bridge constructing curb and gutter and grading for the roadway and parking area at the wayside park.
On the Pensacola side of the bridge, they are installing cable handrail on the multiuse path near Bayfront Parkway, placing rip rap, and grading the shoreline for stabilization now that the work trestle near the fishing pier has been removed.
Please continue to drive safely by slowing down, putting down the cell phone, and paying attention to all construction signs.
