Crews driving piles, setting beams
Pensacola Bay Bridge repair crews are using barge-mounted construction cranes to lift concrete piles into position and drive them into the bay bottom. Work has also begun to install the replacement beams that are needed for the repair effort.
While there are no direct traffic impacts associated with pile driving or beam setting, persons nearby may detect noise and the possibility of vibration. Pile driving is occurring seven-days-a-week but will not take place during overnight hours.
